This session aligns closely with tenants of diversity, equity and inclusion. Teachers identify deficit mindsets that hinder learning among students, community and parents. Teachers explore strategies to move their community of students to a growth-focused mindset.

Audience: Teachers, Support professionals who work with students

(co-teachers, social worker, psychologist)

Participants will need a computer with a camera and microphone


Learning Experience:

Participants examine deficit mindsets that hinder productivity among students. These narratives can disrupt attempts to build inclusive classroom communities.

Participants examine historical narratives that have plagued communities and explore strategies to build inclusive classroom communities.

Participants build a plan of action to take back into their classrooms.
