Building a Framework for Equity

Audience: School Teams

Overview: Participants identify the patterns of systemic inequities and implicit bias within their school systems. Teams will prioritize individual consciousness and behavior changes that will dismantle practices that result in inequitable outcomes for students and families.

This session is a deep dive using an inquiry process to examine curricula and schoolwide practices that perpetuate inequitable outcomes for students.


Specifications: 3 hours

Up to 15 participants


Teams choose a focus area and determine where they will engage in further deep dive to strengthen instructional and school practices that eliminate inequitable patterns within schools. Further investigations will occur in subsequent sessions, which may examine:

  • Impact of Equity in MTSS
  • Examine School Discipline Outcomes that Improve Student Well-Being
  • Engaging Instruction to Increase Equity in Education
  • Using Discipline Data to Address Disproportionality
  • Building Culturally Responsive Practices
